The long-standing partnership between the World Cup Levi and the Finnish brand Superyellow has resulted in a collection of race beanies, each of which tells the story of its own race year. The 2026 beanie is blue and can be recognized by its white pom-pom and birch-patterned reindeer button, which symbolizes victory and success.
The Levi World Cup beanie is designed in collaboration between Superyellow and the event organizers. Over the years, a shared approach has emerged: the designs combine Levi’s wishes, Superyellow’s expertise, and ideas drawn from Finnish nature.
- The beanies always incorporate something unique to Lapland and characteristic of the event. “Whether it’s the colors of the Northern Lights or the silhouette of Levi Fell on the race hat, or perhaps a wooden birch button on the hat, as is the case this year, which symbolizes Finland’s unique nature,” sums up Superyellow founder Anna Ahlholm.
As a result of long-term collaboration, the event cap has become part of the event’s tradition. It can be seen on the heads of athletes, event organizers, and the audience alike during the competition weekend. For many event-goers, the event cap has become a tradition they eagerly look forward to before the competition weekend.
In partnership with Superyellow, Levi is also interested in the international nature of the World Cup. A large portion of the company’s customers come from the same countries as the athletes participating in the event. Levi offers the Finnish brand a natural setting to connect with its international audience and showcase Finnish design and manufacturing expertise in an environment where the products are actually used in winter sports.
The Birch Victory Button and the Familiar Reindeer
In the 2026 model, the color blue represents Finland and its unspoiled nature. The white pom-pom resembles a snowball, and a new detail on the hat is a reindeer-patterned button made of birch wood.
As its name suggests, the "Victory" button symbolizes victory and success. The reindeer motif, on the other hand, is a natural fit for Levi: this northern animal is also known for the reindeer named after World Cup winners.
The pom-pom style has been chosen for the competition beanie year after year, as it is considered sporty and well-suited for the event. The colors and details vary, but the beanie is always made of 100 percent merino wool. The beanies are manufactured in Finland.
This collaboration has resulted in many different types of game caps
As part of the partnership between Superyellow and the Levi World Cup, race beanies have been designed since 2020. The first one was gray with a leather logo. In 2022, the beanie featured dark blue and a reindeer pattern; a year later, it was mint green with the text “Levi World Cup.”
For the 2024 commemorative hat, a black base, the silhouette of Levitunturi, and a multicolored aurora-themed pom-pom were chosen. In 2025, the design featured a light beige color and an embroidered little reindeer.
The designs, which change every year, have also turned the beanies into collector’s items. For longtime fans, they serve as mementos of race weekends, encounters, and events on the slopes. At the same time, each new model continues the collaborative work of the two partners, which focuses on Finnish manufacturing and products designed specifically for the event.
2026 race beanie will be on sale at the event venue on both race days, as well as at the Levi Brand Store. The race hats have sold out in previous years, so be sure to get yours early!
